She is of Romani (Gypsy) origin, born in the Triana district of Seville, Spain. She has released more than a dozen albums throughout a career spanning many decades, and is known for her distinctive Andalusian style.<br \/>\nShe was born into a family of musicians. Both her father and her grandfather were singers.<br \/>\nHer husband, the bullfighter Francisco Rivera P\u00e9rez, known professionally as &#8220;Paquirri&#8221;, died in the bullring on 26 September 1984, at the horns of the now infamous bull Avispado in Pozoblanco, C\u00f3rdoba.
